A series of flower crowns built for a production of Promenade. Faux flowers arranged on a fosshape base and tied in the back with matching ribbon. Designing 6 unique but cohesive crowns was such fun, and I loved getting to work with florals. Costume design by Kt Harris

Custom jacket made of vinyl alligator skin, sequin fabric, and LED tubing. The jacket was built and fitted by myself, and designed by Ricky Reynoso for Once Upon A Rhyme.
LED tubing was made into piping and sewn into the seams of the “V” detail on front and back. They were controlled by remotes that slipped into straps at the bottom on either side of the zipper, easily accessible at hand height.
The actor who wore the jacket turned the LEDs on and off onstage during a dance sequence. The character was a sci-fi themed rapper called “R2-Thugbot”
Pants built by Rebecca Kanach

Muslin half-scale replica of an over dress from 1534, based on a portrait by an unknown painter in the Netherlands
I made a bum roll and Spanish Farthingale style understructure and drew from Patterns of Fashion for the shape of the under skirt
My primary goal was to recreate the over dress in the portrait on the left, from the Netherlands in 1534. I pulled additional research to get a feel for the dress as a whole.

A monmouth cap based on historical records, existing pieces, and attempts at replication by other knitters. Hand knit with 100% wool and felted.
Monmouth caps were meant to be worn over the ears in cold weather and above the ears in warm weather, as they were often used as cushioning under armor. For this purpose, they have one row of knit stitches which breaks the ribbing pattern and creates a fold line.
I experimented with felting in a washer/dryer, and eventually found a method that felted tight enough to provide good insulation and blocked well into a hat shape.
